Bridge is pleased to release first recording of five works by American composer, William Bland. Not easily categorized, Mr. Bland’s work incorporates tonal and atonal elements, frequent microtonal inflections, and both strict and free rhythmic designs. He blends these into passionate rhapsodic structures of highly contrasting densities. Born in West Virginia in 1947, Bland’s work has been performed frequently in Europe.
Reviews:
“The performances seethe with commitment. The recording is near-noiseless, balance excellent.” -Fanfare
